A mixture of gases contains H2 and O2 gases in the ratio of 1 : 4 (w/w). What is the molar ratio of the two gases in the mixture?

Answer - (d) 4 : 1

 

Solution - 

H2 and Oare present in 1 : 4 ratio, thus lets assume 100g od H2 and 400g of O2

no. of moles of Hydrogen = 100/2 = 50

no.of moles of Oxygen = 400/32 = 12.5

ratio = 50 : 12.5 → 4 : 1
